[Beverly is composed as she takes a seat, but that sure is a giant black eye that wasn’t there the last time they saw one another, so she braces herself for the inevitable questions about that.]

I promise I won’t stay long.

[Yeah, there's no way that Wanda does not notice that. In fact, she's rendered almost entirely speechless by it. She's not sure whether or not to draw attention to it, considering Beverly probably does not want to talk about it... Still, Wanda's reaction is probably enough of an indication that she wants to ask about it, but is politely choosing not to. After all, there likely already was enough hard subjects to cover right now to not add a black eye into the mix.]

It's- it's all right. You are, um... not distracting me from anything.

[Beverly appreciates Wanda not asking, even though she is clearly shocked by the sight of Beverly's eye.

Unfortunately for Wanda, she's not going to volunteer anything. Instead, she just takes a letter out of her pocket and hands it to Wanda, unopened.]

I just thought you might want to read this in private.

[Wanda takes the letter. Hesitates for second, seemingly deciding whether to open it now or wait. However, her impatience easily gets the better of her, and she quickly tears the letter open, her eyes pouring over the note Agent Romanov left for her. It doesn't take her long to read through it, as there's not much in it. However, her expression changes markedly from sadness to almost tearful giggling as she reads it. At one point, she quickly glances up at Dr. Crusher, possibly checking to see if she left the room. However, her expression when she looks up seems a mixture of fear, relief and guilt. It only lasts a second, before she returns her gaze to the letter. She feels a pain in heart build, missing her friend more and more with each word that passes in front of her eyes. When she finishes, she folds the letter closed, wiping some building tears from her eyes. They did not fall during the course of her reading, but her eyes had noticeably watered.]

Did she tell you then? About what is in this letter?

[Beverly shakes her head, her brow furrowing a bit.]

No. I don't know what's in any of them, except for my own.

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Wanda nods her head, another small smile flashes on her face briefly. She places the letter in a pocket inside her jacket.]

Thank you, for sharing this with me.

She- Natasha, she... I miss her.

[Beverly gives her a sad, fleeting smile back.]

I know. I do too. But you're going to see her again.

[A small, sad smile crosses her face.]

But it will not be the same... she and I, we will not remember any of this. We will be starting all over again, from when we last saw each other.

[Which Wanda wished could have been on better terms.]

Perhaps.

[Beverly has some doubts that they really will forget everything when they return.

Or maybe she just wants it to not be true.]

And perhaps not. Either way, it's not the end for you.

[That brings a flicker of a smile back to Wanda's face. She hopes Beverly is right.]

Thank you again, Dr. Crusher.

[She light touches her chest, indicating the inner pocket where she stowed the letter.]
