[Making sure they're out of earshot, Wanda offers her thoughts.]
Perhaps they are like us. They do not so much align with one particular faction, and instead find their own way to work in between two or all three?
[She has a bit of a mischievous grin on her face. It had been fun swapping between clothes and factions. It had sort of become like a game to her and Pietro.]
[Her grin is infectious, and he can't help but smile in return.]
Perhaps. In some areas there do seem to be many more establishments that are neutral. I suppose as long as there's easy travel between places, it wouldn't be too bad.
[But here come a group of laughing orange-clad youngsters, so he drops the subject until they pass.]
Though it certainly would be more beneficial to have access to all the special goods and services offered.
[Wanda watches the group pass them, before turning back to Vision.]
Funny how easy it can be to be blind to the path of greatest good when pettiness gets in the way.
[Her tone is less judgmental and more knowing. In fact, the look in her eyes is more sympathetic than accusatory. Did she... was she perhaps making light of what happened after the Sokovia Accords? What had happened--all the fighting between the Avengers--is not something that should necessarily be brushed aside so easily. She knows that. But, right here and right now, it's her way of letting Vision know that she will not let anything come between the two of them again.]
[Judgmental or not, he winces ever so slightly at the reminder. There had been blindness, willful and otherwise, on all sides of that conflict. Yet he grasps her hand tighter, knowing at least that this is one way of saying that she knows better now, that both of them do, thanks to all that had happened.]
I don't want to lose sight of what's truly important, Wanda, no matter what the pettiness is. I hope I can count on you to remind me of that.
[Feeling the hand squeeze brings a smile back to her face. She moves in closer and leans up against him as they continue their walk. She looks up at him, her tone sympathetic and warm.]
[Because it really is important to him, not only that they both act in full conscience, but that she'll make the choices that are right for her. He wants Wanda to be happy.
They walk in comfortable silence for a little while until the street opens up into a square and a fountain dances in the center. There's a large sculpture that looks like the whole planetary system, but with dancers around the sun in place of planets and moons.]
Ah, this is the fountain the guide book said was particularly interesting.
[Wanda watches with a smile of fascination as the sculpture dancers orbit around the sun performing continuous spins. The way the light played off the water of the fountain made the whole piece seem almost like a performance. The sparkling light, the sculpted dancers, and the music of the water cascading from the fountain; it was all beautiful.]
It's beautiful.
[Wanda leans on Vision, resting her head against his shoulder as they stand and watch the fountain.]
[With a deliberation to his movements that would make it clear to an observer he's imitating a gesture he's seen before rather than acting off experience, the Vision drapes an arm around Wanda's shoulder as she leans into him.]
It certainly is. Would you like your picture in front of it?
[Because of course he's brought the camera she gave him.]
[She smiles. She can sense the tentativeness in his gesture, the hesitance, the "am I doing it right?" To her, it is very cute and makes his embrace all the more meaningful.]
[When he offers the photo, she looks up at him in obvious mock offense.]
You do not want a photo of this beautiful sculpture ruined with me standing in front of it, do you?
[She smiles warmly at him. Flattery will get you everywhere Vision. She twirls away from him, going to stand in front of the fountain for his picture.]
Okay, but only if we take two more. One of you, and one of the both of us.
[He takes a few moments to frame Wanda in the best light and focus on her, making the beauty of the fountain a backdrop to her, because she's what's really important.
Of course, he gives the camera to a passerby to take a picture of him and then then both of them, so he can only hope those pictures turn out nicely as well.
Afterward, he looks at the display screen for the previews and smiles.]
Would you, ah--would you like it if we had this printed and placed into a souvenir frame?
[Oh, good, she likes the idea. The shop he'd seen with souvenir frames and print services is back near where they started, so they can continue to walk around and do that part near the end.]
I have. It's a good tool to document where we've been. Er--and Wrath says it is important to take pictures of the ship's pets as well.
[And that makes Wanda giggle. Sometimes, it seemed like Vision had all the answers, and it made the times when he did not somewhat unique. Combined with Vision's apparent amusement in this case-- well, it was hard for her to not find it cute.]
[As they walk along, they come across some more vendors and stalls. At one of them, Wanda stops to look at two rings that happen to catch her eye.one of them with a yellow gemstone. Another with a scarlet gemstone instead.]
[She inquires from the seller how much each are, and is able to haggle a deal for the two of them. In fact, her skill and ease at bartering is on full display, as she really wants the rings.]
[Satisfied with the deal and purchase she has made, she slips the one with the scarlet gemstone onto the ring finger of her right hand. She then turns to Vision, offering him the ring with the yellow gemstone.]
[He's not surprised Wanda stops at the jewelry shop, nor that she's picked up the pieces she has. Red is most certainly her color and she embraces it well. What does surprise him, quite visibly, is that she offers the second ring to him.
He takes it, of course; he slides it on his finger and is unsurprised when it fits. She has an eye for these things.]
It's for me?
[He can see its for him, but the question stands.]
[With both rings on each of their fingers, the gemstones in each start to glow. The luminescence they give off is not very powerful, but certainly noticeable. Even more so were it darker out.]
[Wanda looks down at her's in wonder. She had not been expecting that. She had purely chosen the rings for their designs and the signifying yellow and red colors.]
[The vendor explains, a little begrudgingly as they are clearly still somewhat bitter over getting haggled so well by a young woman, that the stones are cut from two special gems. They are typically worn, the red and pink by the ladies and the yellow and green by the men, by couples. The gems become linked when worn by two people with strong feelings of affection for one another.]
[Wanda blinks at the man, almost disbelief were it not for the plain evidence currently gleaming from her hand. She then turns to Vision, her smile growing warmer and wider.]
[His yellow stone is, of course, glowing as well. It's a minor kind of power, but one that seems real enough. He'll have to wear this when he's out on a date with her, though he doubts it would be affected by his phasing ability and so he can't wear it in battle. Pity.
Still, he can't deny it matches his outfit.]
I see. It's an excellent choice, then, and I hope you didn't doubt the outcome.
[He's teasing lightly; he knows she's perfectly capable of sensing his affection,if she were to look for it.]
Had I known they were going to do that when I bought them, of course I wouldn't have doubted it.
[She responds in mock defensiveness. She then looks down at the ring once more, turns to thank the vendor--who merely grunts in response (very salty still), and takes Vision's hand to lead him through the rest of the market. Though she does stop him a few more times when items catch her eye, she makes no more purchases.]
[Feeling satisfied she's seen all the marketplace has to offer, she looks to her date.]
Hmm. Perhaps we could drop the pictures off and take in the view from one of the taller towers?
[Not that he doesn't fly around at will whenever he wants to, but that's by himself. So he leads them through the twisting streets to the tall tower, a bustling business skyscraper with a viewing deck and restaurant on top.]
Er, and if you're hungry, perhaps a break for something?
[It's then that her stomach rumbles. She blushes. That's rather embarrassing. At his second question, she blushes a little further, at first waving off his offer.]
No, no. I'm all right. Really...
[She then notes the tower has a top-floor restaurant, as their menu is displayed outside the building.]
[Wanda, still blushing slightly from her stomach's uproar, nods her head sheepishly and takes Vision's hand again, letting him lead her into the tower.]
